Guidelines for acceptable use of the Strave platform

1. Purpose

This Acceptable Use Policy defines the standards of behavior expected from all users of the Strave platform. By using our services, you agree to abide by these guidelines. Violations may result in warnings, account suspension, or permanent bans.

2. General Conduct

All users are expected to:

  • Treat other users with respect and courtesy
  • Communicate constructively and avoid harassment
  • Follow all applicable laws and regulations
  • Provide accurate and truthful information
  • Respect the intellectual property rights of others

3. Prohibited Activities

Cheating and Exploitation

  • Using cheats, hacks, or third-party software to gain an advantage
  • Exploiting bugs or glitches for personal gain
  • Smurfing or using alternative accounts to manipulate match results
  • Account sharing to circumvent restrictions
  • Match fixing or intentionally losing games

Harassment and Abuse

  • Bullying, threatening, or intimidating other users
  • Hate speech based on race, gender, sexuality, religion, or disability
  • Sexual harassment or inappropriate content
  • Doxxing or sharing personal information without consent
  • Stalking or persistent unwanted contact

Fraud and Deception

  • Impersonating other users, staff, or organizations
  • Misrepresenting identity or qualifications
  • Falsifying match results or event information
  • Manipulating ratings, reviews, or statistics

Platform Misuse

  • Spamming or flooding communication channels
  • Creating multiple accounts to evade restrictions
  • Distributing malware or malicious links
  • Attempting to compromise platform security
  • Using automated scripts or bots without authorization

4. Event-Specific Rules

  • All participants must use their registered and verified accounts
  • Players must be available and on time for scheduled matches
  • Disrupting or interfering with ongoing matches is prohibited
  • Event organizers must provide clear rules and enforce them consistently
  • Prize pools must be distributed as advertised and within a reasonable timeframe
  • Results must be reported accurately and promptly

5. Content Guidelines

All content posted on the platform, including but not limited to text, images, and media, must comply with these guidelines:

  • Content must not be obscene, pornographic, or indecent
  • Content must not promote illegal activities
  • Content must not infringe on intellectual property rights
  • Content must not contain personal information of others
  • Content must not be misleading or fraudulent

6. Enforcement

Violations of this policy may result in:

  • Verbal or written warnings
  • Temporary account suspension
  • Permanent account termination
  • Removal of content
  • Disqualification from events
  • Legal action in severe cases

We reserve the right to determine the appropriate response based on the severity and frequency of violations. Decisions are final and at our sole discretion.

7. Reporting Violations

If you encounter behavior that violates this policy, please report it through our in-platform reporting tools or contact our support team. We review all reports and take appropriate action.
