Strave Agent

Change the format and settings of an event by chatting with the Strave agent.

The Strave agent is a chat panel in the event management area. You describe a change in your own words, for example "Add a Swiss stage before the playoffs and send the top 8 to the playoffs." The agent reads the event, plans the change, and shows you a preview. Nothing changes until you approve it.

The agent works on the event that you have open. It answers in the language that you write in.

Open the agent

The agent is in the event management area. Open an event that you manage. In the dashboard header, select the agent button (the sparkles icon next to search). The agent panel opens on the right side of the page.

To use the agent, you need the Events: Configure permission in the organisation. Your conversations belong to you. Other organisers of the event don't see them.

What the agent can change

The agent edits the same parts of an event that you edit on the Configuration page:

  • Stages and their groups: create, update, delete, and reorder them.
  • Routes that move teams from one stage to the next.
  • The advanced format.
  • Event settings areas, for example registration, map pool, match format, rules, branding, prizes, and notifications.
  • Group schedules.
  • Restore an earlier version of the event.

The agent can also read the structure, simulate it with random results, and list the version history.

The agent doesn't change teams, results, or match schedules. You manage those in the event management area as usual.

Review and approve changes

The agent previews every change before it applies it. The preview shows what changes, any problems in the new structure, and the impact on teams and matches. Under the preview, select Apply to make the change or Reject to discard it. After a rejection, the agent asks you what to do instead.

The agent follows the same rules as a manual edit:

  • A group is locked when one of its matches has started. The agent can't change a locked group.
  • When a change clears a seeded group, its teams lose their seeds and its unplayed matches are removed. The preview shows this impact before you approve the change.
  • A change that makes the structure invalid fails, and the agent tells you why.

Read the impact in the preview before you select Apply. An approved change removes the seeds and unplayed matches of the affected groups.

A change applies in full or not at all. If one step of a change fails, Strave writes none of it.

History and undo

Each applied change becomes one version in the event's Version history. The entry shows your name and the label "via Strave agent."

To undo a change, restore an earlier version. You can ask the agent to restore it, or open Version history and select Restore this version.

Plans and cost

The agent is available on the Standard, Professional, and Enterprise plans. On the Free plan, the panel shows an upgrade notice instead of the chat.

The agent uses AI models that cost money for each request. Strave charges the AI usage cost plus a margin, in euro cents. Each euro cent uses one usage credit. The usage credits that your plan includes cover the cost first. After they run out, the cost is added to your usage billing.

Set a monthly limit

By default, the agent has no spend limit. To control the cost, set an Agent monthly limit in the billing settings of the organisation. You need the Billing: Manage permission to change it.

When the agent cost of the month reaches the limit, the agent stops. It starts again when the next calendar month begins in UTC, or when you raise the limit.
